This grotesque chair repeats forms of the extravagances of Soviet architecture and of the kitch aesthetics of bureaucracy. The monumental, symmetrical front is covered with faux-marble paint and counterbalanced with almost invisible back legs. The seat is fake Astrakhan fur, a status symbol of the Soviet elite.
